چکیده
Background Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a chronic motor neuron disease characterised by progressive weakness in striated muscles resulting from the destruction of neuronal cells. The term juvenile ALS (JALS) used for patients whose symptoms start before 25 years age. JALS may be sporadic or familial. Case Here, we present case because its rarity children. heterozygous p.Pro525Leu (c.1574C > T) variation was identified fused sarcoma (FUS) gene. Conclusion mutation FUS gene has been detected with ALS, early onset and severely course.

Autosomal dominant juvenile amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Juvenile amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a form of chronic motor neuron disease characterized by combined upper and lower motor neuron symptoms and signs with onset prior to age 25 years. We report the clinical and electrodiagnostic findings in 49 affected family members and neuropathological findings from two autopsies of a Maryland kindred with autosomal dominant juvenile ALS linked to...
متن کاملHirayama's Disease: A Rare Clinical Variant of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Hirayama's disease is a rare clinical variant of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis where distal muscles are involved more compared to proximal muscles and vice-versa occurs only in 10% cases and so it is differentiated from O'Sullivan McLeod syndrome which involves only small muscles of single limb. Here, we present a case of Hirayama's disease where disease achieved a plateau after 3 years with no...
متن کاملAmyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in a Patient with Behçet’s Disease
Behçet’s disease is a multisystem vasculitis. Its neurological involvement mostly includes parenchymal and non-parenchymal central nervous system manifestations. Peripheral nervous system presentations are rare. A 32-yr-old male patient who fulfilled the international study group criteria for Behçet’s disease, referred to our center with walking difficulty and repeated falling downs. Neurologi...
متن کاملAmyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Multiple Sclerosis Overlap: A Case Report
The concurrence of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and multiple sclerosis (MS) is extremely rare. We reported the case of a 33-year-old woman with a past history of paresthesias at the right hand, who developed progressive quadriparesis with muscular atrophy of limbs and, finally, bulbar signs and dyspnea. Clinical and neurophysiologic investigations revealed upper and lower motor neuron si...
متن کاملBasophilic cytoplasmic inclusions in a case of sporadic juvenile amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
A 24-year-old woman presented with progressive muscle atrophy and weakness of the right upper extremity. Subsequently her weakness rapidly extended to the left upper extremity, neck and lower extremities. Neurological examination disclosed involvement of the lower motor neuron system. She died 7 months after the onset. There was neuronal loss and reactive gliosis in the anterior horns of the sp...
